ILLNESS AND LEAVE

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I’M ILL?

If you are ill, report this to your EUR supervisor and to EURflex. Do this before 9:00 and when doing so, provide the address where you are convalescing and your phone number. It is important that you can be reached at the telephone number you provided when you registered. If this information has changed in the interim, please state this when reporting ill. Have you recovered from your illness? Notify EURflex immediately. Also be sure to notify your supervisor that you are again available for work.

WILL I BE PAID WHILE I’M ILL?

You will receive sickness benefit based on the average number of hours per day of illness, which is calculated based on the period of up to 1 year prior to the first day of illness.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I FORGET TO REPORT THAT I AM ILL? WHAT NEXT?

The first thing you should do is immediately notify your supervisor. Then call EURflex and we will see which actions need to be taken in this specific situation. Delaying reporting ill could have consequences for the payment of the sickness benefit.

WILL I BE PAID ON HOLIDAYS?

Does a national holiday coincide with your scheduled working day and is the university closed? Then you will be paid for this holiday. The number of hours you will be paid will be calculated based on the average number of hours you have worked on that day during the past 13 weeks. You will receive additional information about this in a mailing sent by the central organisation. If it is your opinion that you are eligible for payment on this holiday, please inform EURflex of this by sending an email.
